Meerloo J A M
This article emphasizes the danger of using euphemistic names ÒtranquilizerÓ & ÒantidepressantÓ & the risk of automatic generalization in treatment. The use of tranquilizers & antidepressants can, in some cases, increase the suicidal risk for persons with suicidal tendencies. An analysis of one patient dealing with depression, is included, where sedation & tranquilization interfered with the natural process of mourning. (LC)
