Report of an Independent Inquiry Into the Care and Treatment of Daksha Emson M.B.B.S., MRCPsych, MSc. and Her Daughter Freya

This document reports on the independent inquiry of a homicide-suicide of Dr. Daksha Emson, a psychiatrist, & her daughter on October 9th, 2000. A Panel of Inquiry was set up to investigate the causes of the deaths, & the issues arising from the Part 8 Review under the Children Act 1989. The Inquiry Panel was asked to produce a report & to make any relevant recommendations. The recommendations include stigma, doctor-to-doctor treatment & care, perinatal mental health, children of patients, & occupational health services. (LC) (52 refs)
