Two case studies were done to show the increasing use of tranquilizers in patients with mental illnesses in whom death by suicide is a possibility. The studies showed that hypotension is a common side effect with over dosage of some tranquilizers & in these cases the hypotension was so severe that their lives were threatened. The study found effective ways of treating hypotension & the other common methods used are still applicable for successful treatment. (LC) (4 refs)
