Suicide-homicide Temporal Interrelationship, Links With Other Fatalities, and Environmental Physical Activity

This study investigated the connection by time between suicide & homicide, between them & other fatalities, & their links with the level of cosmophysical activity. Using the national database of Lithuania (1990-2002) 547875 deaths, 4638 homicides, & 19527 suicides were registered in that period. A correlation was found between monthly rates of death by homicide & male groups. Female suicide rates correlated with male & total homicide numbers. Both homicide & suicide rates are linked to parameters of cosmophysical activity. (LC) (37 refs)
