This study investigated attendance of treatment & follow-up characteristics in 2 samples of suicide attempters with different lengths of follow-up, that is after 1 month & after 3 months. After 3 months, 38% of the patients had no psychiatric treatment. At 1 month, the patients more often had sleep disturbances, expressed hopelessness, & they also more often expressed other kinds of problems. After 1 & 3 months 36% & 30%, respectively, had suicidal thoughts. Implications for practice are discussed. (23 refs)
