The authors review the findings of a study in which they constructed a path model to describe the relationships between the following set of cognitive, affective, & behavioural risk variables: exposure to attempted or completed suicide, repulsion by life, attraction to death, depression, history of self-harm, & current suicidal ideation. It was hypothesized that the effects of exposure to attempted & completed suicide on depression would be moderated by repulsion to life & attraction to death.
