The authors summarize the key findings of a study examining suicide rates by county within California. The study examined whether changes in suicide rates might reflect the dramatic recent changes in the ethnic makeup of California, whether the recent strong economy would coincide with decreases in suicide rates, & whether the variation in urbanicity in the state would account for differences in suicide rates between counties.
