This document describes the services offered by Quebec’s universities to potentially suicidal students, based on data obtained from 7 French-speaking universities. The author found that in the period from 1987 to 1997, between 20% & 26% of students in French-speaking universities considered suicide at least once in their lives, 8% within the year before study. He also found that the university community was organized to prevent suicide, with professional services available for suicidal crises or completions. (43 refs)
