This report outlined several key components in an overall approach to preventing youth suicide within BC. A review of 24 research articles found that empirical support is strongest for targeted interventions for high-risk youth, & that recently published studies are also providing renewed support for school-based peer recognition & response training. 4 general “categories of action” for directing future activities in youth suicide prevention are highlighted, & recommendations for best practices are made. Areas for future research are also identified. (79 refs)
