The Efficacy of Aftercare Strategies for Patients who Have Attempted Suicide: a Review of Relevant Literature

The current literature review was conducted in order to: (1) outline the existing evidence for the efficacy of treatments following attempted suicide; & (2) provide an evidence base for the development of a pilot study of a brief psychological intervention that has the potential to be effective in reducing repetition rates of attempted suicide in adults following deliberate self harm.
