To evaluate Web-based information, 25 graduate nursing students taking part in an informatics course explored the Internet for information about depression. They found a wide array of Web sites focused on depression. 5 levels of classification evolved, ranging from helpful to hazardous. Hazardous web sites gave information on completing suicide, including accounts of completed suicide, research on suicide, & groups that promote suicide. (22 refs)
