The authors sought to estimate the relative risks of nonfatal suicidal behaviour in patients aged 10 to 19 years starting treatment with 1 of 3 antidepressant drugs compared with patients starting treatment with dothiepin. They found that the risk of suicidal behaviour after starting antidepressant treatment was similar among users of amitriptyline, fluoxetine, & paroxetine compared with the risk among users of dothiepin.
