Suicide and Unemployment in Young People: Analysis of Trends in England and Wales, 1921-1995

The authors investigated associations between unemployment & suicide in 15- to 44-year-old men & women over a period spanning 2 major economic recessions (1921-1995). They found significant associations between unemployment & suicide in both males & females, which were generally stronger at younger ages. (22 refs)
