Research indicates that, compared to children bereaved by non-suicide deaths, children bereaved by suicide have greater anxiety, anger & shame in the year following the death, & more symptoms of depression 18 months after the death. This article considers the factors that make it particularly difficult for young people to grieve after a suicide, & how they can be helped. (14 refs)
