An Examination and Replication of the Psychometric Properties of the Massachusetts Youth Screening Instrument-Second Edition (MAYSI-2) Among Adolescents in Detention Settings

This study evaluated the psychometric properties of the Massachusetts Youth Screening Instrument 2 (MAYSI-2), based on the records of 704 youths evaluated at intake to detention facilities. In addition to factor structure, the study evaluated test-retest reliability. As well, external criteria regarding substance abuse treatment, traumatic experiences, & history of suicide attempts were used to further evaluate the concurrent validity of selected scales against relevant external criteria.
