The reviewer warns that this book is “both a superb treatise & a potentially dangerous resource.” As a reference guide for clinicians & administrators, he finds the book invaluable. However, with regards to the “exhaustive lists of do’s & don’ts” presented by the authors as “minimal” standards of care, he finds the potential for “considerable harm to be done to the profession if malpractice attorneys were to use these so-called standards as minimal” as the authors have suggested. Further problems are also highlighted.
