Characteristics of Depressed Patients who Report Childhood Sexual Abuse

Depressed patients who had & had not been exposed to childhood sexual abuse were studied to determine differences in severity of depressed mood, lifetime histories of anxiety & depression, childhood environment, & disordered personality function. Patients who were exposed to childhood sexual abuse reported higher self-injury & suicide attempt rates. (30 refs)
