In this letter to the editor, the author responds to an article by Hendin concerning the importance of psychodynamics in therapy with suicidal patients. The current author draws attention to the psychodynamics of patients with multiple personality disorder & posttraumatic stress disorder, & highlights the relationship between suicide & dissociative disorders.
