The authors evaluated the system of firearm-related injury surveillance extant in Colorado for simplicity, flexibility, sensitivity, & predictive value. They found that the system was flexible, acceptable, & sensitive, & had a high predictive value, but that it was also time-consuming for staff & lacking in timeliness of data. (10 refs)
