The authors describe the prevalence of health risk behaviors & identify risk & protective factors that are associated with several health risk behaviors (including suicidal ideation & attempts) among adolescents in Brazil. They find that youth in Brazil report high rates of suicidal thoughts & attempts. Gender differences are explored. (15 refs)
