The authors hypothesized that callers to an evening crisis line in Ljubljana who called after midnight were more severely depressed & therefore more suicidal than those calling before midnight. Results showed that only repetitive callers who called after midnight showed significantly higher degree of estimated depression, higher incidence of past suicidal attempts, higher level of evaluated suicidal tendencies during the call & higher level of suicidal threat prediction, compared to those calling before midnight.
