The highest suicide attempt rates were found in Gent (Belgium), Oxford (England & Wales), & Helsinki (Finland). The lowest rates were in Padova (Italy). Major decreases were evident for Stockhold (Sweden), Bern (Switzerland), Odense (Denmark), Sor Trondelag (Norway), & Umea (Sweden). Increases were shown for Wurzburg (Germany), Oxford (England & Wales) & Helsinki (Finland). Females & young people were found to be at particular risk for a suicide attempt. (4 refs)
