Youth Suicide Prevention and Intervention Skills: Training of key Persons

This paper describes a 2-day training program in youth suicide prevention & intervention skills for key persons. The program offers a framework of suicidal behaviour & its prevention, & reviews social & personal attitudes, multidisciplinary scientific perspectives, misconceptions, meanings of suicidal behaviour, the suicidal process, & referral to & follow-up with therapeutic settings. The paper concludes with an evaluation of the program by trainees. (2 refs)
