The author explores the impact of patient/client suicide on medical professionals, arguing that they experience many of the same feelings & responses as other suicide survivors, which are compounded by further complications related to their professional position. He concludes that the clinician survivor of a patient/client suicide who first attends to his own emotional needs will find his ability to help others greatly increased. (29 refs)
