This study examined the cost-utility of screening for depression compared with no screening. The authors evaluated practice variables that substantially influence estimates of cost-utility, & outline areas in which more research is needed. Though suicide was among the variables evaluated, no discussion of suicide appears in this article because it was not found to be influential. However, suicide data is presented in tables of evidence. (150 refs)
