The authors comment on an article by L Snyder & D Sulmasy regarding the American College of Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine’s opposition towards the legalization of physician-assisted suicide (PAS). The current authors highlight what they believe to be the weaknesses of the ACP-ASIM’s position, & argue that not only do many physicians support PAS, but they also believe that its legalization will improve end-of-life care in the US.
