This article reviews recent developments in the on-going debate about the use of antidepressants in children. It is reported that in mid-September, the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) will hold public meetings on the subject & in the meantime is considering tougher warnings about using antidepressants in the treatment of children & adolescents. Recent news articles on the topic are also discussed, including the case of a 12-year-old boy who was treated with antidepressant medication & is currently facing trial for murder.
