The following research question was the basis for this study: Could parental alcoholism be a risk factor for teens engaging in problem behaviors? A secondary analysis of a Wyoming high-risk youth data set was conducted. Adolescent children of alcoholics scored significantly lower on all psychosocial factors of family/personal strengths & school bonding & significantly higher on all factors of at-risk temperament, feelings, thoughts, & behaviors (including suicidal behaviors) than non-children of alcoholics.
