Cognitive Therapy for Suicidality: an Integrative, Comprehensive, and Practical Approach to Conceptualization

A model of suicidality based in cognitive therapy is offered. The conceptual framework, referred to as the suicidal mode, incorporates the various systems of personality into an integrative theory with direct application for clinical care. Application of the suicidal mode to treatment of patients struggling with suicidality is discussed & broader issues of theoretical integration are addressed. (20 refs)
