Advancing the Mental Health Agenda: a Provincial Mental Health Plan for Alberta

This Provincial Mental Health Plan outlines a vision for the future of mental health in Alberta. It provides descriptions of the roles & responsibilities of the various organizations involved in mental health services & identifies priority areas where expanded services are required. New approaches to funding are discussed, as are strategies for ensuring a diverse & adequate supply of well-trained mental health care professionals & providers. The plan emphasizes a strong commitment to research that will advance mental health care & treatment, & focuses on accountability, evaluation & measuring performance to ensure ongoing improvements in mental health services.
