This article briefly reports on a warning issued by Health Canada regarding the use of antidepressant medications in children, due to indications that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) or serotonin noradrenalin reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs) may worsen depression or trigger suicidal or aggressive impulses in these patients. UK policy regarding these medications is discussed in comparison.
