This article reponds to the work of other authors in the same issue of this journal, in which the author elaborates on some of the more controversial issues raised specifically in 2 earlier articles. The current author comments on the implications of these issues for the training & clinical practice opportunities of counseling psycholgists, with special focus on suicidology & the prevention of mental disorders.
