This study investigates differences at admission between women with & without sexual abuse histories who entered an outpatient methadone treatment program in Texas. 39% of the sample reported prior sexual abuse. These clients reported more depression, anxiety, thoughts of suicide, trouble concentrating, & trouble controlling violent behavior than those without sexual abuse histories. Results are discussed in terms of the need for adequate assessment of abuse history at intake & targeted outcome studies. (42 refs)
