Psychiatric and Personality Disorders in Deliberate Self-Harm Patients

To determine the nature & prevalence of psychiatric & personality disorders in deliberate self-harm patients, a representative sample of patients were assessed by various means, including a structured clinical interview & using the European Parasuicide Study Interview Schedule. Follow-up interviews were completed approximately 12-16 months later. Psychiatric disorders were diagnosed in 92% of the patients, with comorbidity of psychiatric disorders in 46.7%. (26 refs)
