The author presents a profile of youth suicide in the Northwest Territories & examines factors that increase the likelihood of self-harming behaviors, suicide attempts, & deaths in this region. She also discusses recent recommendations on Aboriginal youth suicide prevention & explores how these recommendations can be turned into actions to effectively identify and connect with at-risk youth. The need for comprehensive & holistic prevention initiatives is emphasized.
