This pamphlet is intended to assist front line student services staff in the identification & prevention of suicidal behavior in post-secondary students. Suicidal behavior is contextualized in a larger social framework, & specific factors associated with student suicide are considered. The concept of the ‘natural helper’ in the post-secondary environment is introduced, & intervention strategies & recommendations for helping suicidal students, at both the individual & institutional level, are presented.
