Osvath P~~Kelemen G~~et al
The authors examined the differences between those who attempted suicide for the first time & those who had a previous attempt within the framework of the WHO/EURO Multicentre Study on Suicidal Behaviour. In the sample, 62.9% parasuicide acts were committed by women & 37.1% by men. More than half of the attempters had made a previous attempt. Higher risk was associated with being divorced, unemployed/economically inactive, & without higher education. Mental disorders were the most significant risk factor for repeated attempts. (15 refs)
