The author explores gender’s significance for analyzing physician-assisted suicide & euthanasia. The secondary purpose of the article is to go beyond the analysis of gender itself, to an analysis of the arguments offered on whether to condone & legitimate these practices. Feminist literature is brought to bearn on issues of caring, rights, & context. Throughout, the author opposes the legitimation of physician-assisted suicide & euthanasia, while urging the necessity of feminist analysis of the issue.
