The author comments on the article by D M Ackard & D Neumark-Sztainer which examined the prevalence of date violence & rape in 9th & 12th graders & association with disordered eating, mental health, & other physical & sexual abuse by an adult. The current author suggests that despite perceived methodological limitations & lack of conceptal continuity among outcomes, the study underscores the fact that dating violence is prevalent & increases the risk for adverse behavior & health outcomes.
