Bullies, victims, & pupils neutral to bullying were compared on depressive symptoms & suicidal thoughts. The results revealed that both bullies & victims had significantly higher mean scores than neutral pupils on both depressive symptoms & suicidal thoughts. In all cases, girls had significantly higher mean scores than boys on both depressive symptoms & suicidal thoughts. Questions of causalitiy between depressive symptoms, suicidal thoughts & involvement in bullying are discussed & research on the issue is suggested. (48 refs)
