This article reviews the methodological challenges that have defined & limited research in the area of sexual minority youth suicidality. Attention is given to risk & protective factors for suicide. Noramtive risk & protective factors, those common to all youth, & risk & protective factors unique to sexual minority youth are reviewed. In closing, attention is given to the state of suicide prevention & intervention efforts that target sexual minority youth, along with recommendations for future research. (83 refs)
