In exploring the problems of suicide in young people, this article reviews 4 cases of self-destructive female adolescents, all of whom were diabetics who used their illness to express their suicidal tendencies. Some comments are offered regarding the clinical features & dynamics of these patients. The significance of sexual stressors in the suicial attempts & preoccupations of adolescent girls is raised.
