The author of this review claims that K Foley & H Hendin’s book about assisted suicide & end-of-life care is the first to systematically & thoroughly address the ethical, legal, medical, & health policy arguments against hastened death. Targeted to a broad audience, it provides access to a wealth of findings on hastened death by authors from a wide range of disciplines. The reviewer expects the book to energize the current discourse on hastened death, as well as to empower those who are personally struggling with end-of-life decisions. (19 refs)
