This survey of Connecticut physicians found physicians nearly evenly divided on the questions of whether there is a role for physician-assisted suicide (PAS) in systems where adequate palliatve care is available. These groups were found to differ significantly on numerous personal & practice characteristics, as well as perceptions of various risks of PAS. Written comments by 152 respondents provided further insights. The implications of these findings are discussed. (45 refs)
