The present study follows up borderline patients 15 years after their presentation for attempted suicide. The authors identify completed suicides & look for predictors of suicide completion. The study was conducted in an urban general hospital, where the patients differed in social class distribution, & included a large percentage of patients from lower socioeconomic levels. The authors suggest their findings may be generalized onto the larger population of borderline patients. (11 refs)
