The authors investigated the lifetime prevalence rates of childhood abuse, involvement in juvenile prostitution, & adult sexual assault in a sample of 358 homosexual & bisexual males aged 19-35 years. Among the results it was found that those who reported childhood sexual abuse were 3.3 times more likely to have attempted suicide. This & further findings are discussed with regard to the need for health professionals to respond competently & sensitively to male victims of sexual violence. (28 refs)
