Abstract
Analysis of Failure in Living Donor Liver Transplantation: Differential Outcomes in Children and Adults
Goldstein M J~~Ephrem S~~et al
To compare outcomes in donors & recipients between adult & pediatric living-donor liver transplantation (LDLT), the authors reviewed patient records of 45 LDLT outcomes performed between January 1998 & February 2001. Recipient outcomes were found to be worse for adults. Adult 1 year graft survival was 65% (3 retransplants, 5 deaths) vs. 91% for children (1 retransplant, 1 death). Of the 5 adult deaths, 1 was due to suicide. Further findings are discussed. (30 refs)
