This study assessed mental & substance use disorders as potential risk factors for attempted suicide among adolescents with alcohol use disorders. The purpose of the study was to determine which of the disorders acted as predictors for attempted suicide among this population. Results show that bipolar disorder & cocaine use disorders were found to be particularly strongly predictive of suicide attempts among adolescents. These findings are consistent with previous findings involving adult & adolescent populations.
