These letters to the editor are a response to Hawton et. al’s (2003) study on the high risk of co-proxamol as a method of suicide. All 3 authors of the letters concur with Hawton’s suggestion that the prescription of co-proxamol should be restricted in Britain in an attempt to decrease the suicide rate using these pills. Evidence is presented that supports Hawton’s conclusions. (9 refs) (SC)
