This editorial reviews the specific issues faced by people who have lost someone through suicide, the nature of available help, & future needs in this area. Studies are included that indicate that people bereaved by suicide experience stigmatization, shame, guilt, & a sense of rejection. The author notes that while bereavement counseling may be helpful, specialized counseling related to suicide may be more beneficial to survivors. (13 refs) (SC)
